"Yea, and that same God did establish his church among them; yea, and that same God hath called me by a holy calling, to preach the word unto this people and hath given me much success, in the which my joy is full." - Alma 29:13

Transfers

Hey everybody!!

Hey I'm doing great. Ok so just to get over the suspense. (If that is how you spell it) I am going to Punta Arenas for a couple cambios probably. I am going to the Magallanes Ward. I don't know exactly what sector that is. It is called Magallanes but I don't know what sectors or like how many blocks, big or small or anything. I don't know. I am going with Elder Rojas. I think he is from Peru. So yes I get to have another latin. So it's awesome I'm pretty excited. So yes I am going there tomorrow in the morning at like 7 in the morning is when our bus is leaving. So I have been packing like a couple hours today. I will continue in the night. I am pretty excited. I'm pretty sad that I am leaving but you know what can you do? I love the members here but oh well. So yea I am definitely out. I have a couple pictures but my camera isn't really working with the computer right now so I will have to send them later. They are just of some members when I said goodbye to them. So nothing too exciting.

It has been a great week. We had our Branch Conference and it was a huge success!! We had 38 people there. Haha sounds lame right? But when all that I've had my whole time here in Natales was 20ish. Then it is awesome. But we had a lot of lessons this last week. We taught over 20 but most where less actives to get them to come to the conference but it was really awesome. I loved it. We had a definite miracle. Something as stupid as the rain. I had a bad attitude to go out and knock doors saturday morning because it was raining and I just didn't really wanna knock. But it was raining hard also. And Elder Abel was just praying that it would stop. So like 5 minutes before we left after study it stoped raining. And we definitely didn't get rained on. Well it sprinkeled and went away again. But then we went to lunch at mamitas and it just poured again. So we were just praying again and it stopped and we went home. So after that we went to the church for an activity for the conference and it just started pouring again. So when we had to leave it stopped again and we went to our appointments and lessons and we weren't in the rain one time!! Awesome right?! It was way awesome. I loved it and I had a little better attitude after that. Haha. But yea that was a good day.

I'm glad that everything has gone well for you guys. With the skits. Everybodies vacation and school and wrestling and everything. Work. Speaking of which I want to know what Mel and Tally's new business is! And I hope everything goes great with the 5k and the Chili's give back night!! I love that because Chili's is delicious and I haven't had it forever. So wait I'm really almost the missionay who has been out the longest in the ward?? That's nuts. But yea the time is going by so fast for me. It's not even funny. It feels like Elder Abel just got out here with me. Crazy. But yea I almost have a year. Just 2 more months. Nuts right?

Well sorry I don't have a lot of time. I have been a little busy and doing other stuff with trying to put pictures on and writing Pres. Rappleye. But I hope that everything is going well for you guys!! I hope all is going well with everybody!!

Elder Tyler Jolley

First Snowfall

Gotta Love the Shoes
 First Snowfall of the Winter

Hey!

Sorry there are only two pictures. We haven't really had time to take pictures of anything else. But I hope they will be ok. It's our first snowfall that I have had in the mission.. Well in my sector it is the first snowfall that I have had here and in Muermos. So I had to take a picture. That was right before we went to Punta Arenas. We had a great time down there. The Zone Conference was pretty awesome. It was good to get out of here for a little bit actually. I like when we get to go down there just because some times it gets a little lonely up here. But oh well we survive. We are awesome. But I am just hanging out today. Like we haven't done anything too awesome. But we have been sitting in the house and we are trying to see if we can get the chance to go to Las Torres del Payne. But I'm not exactly sure that we will be able to go so that is the bad part... Because your right cambios are really soon. Like in a week and a half on the 18th and I don't think I am going to be staying here too much longer. I actually think I might be heading out after this week. So does everybody else. Like I hope I don't because Natales is awesome. But also I kinda want to because I like being in the loop. Like we never get mail. They were going to send it to us today through the bus but they think that I'm leaving and so they think that we are coming into Punta Arenas again the next week. So they are sending us anything. So we just get to wait for another week. Even though I'm pretty sure they said we have a lot of stuff and that we might even have a package or two. But whatever I don't know. Of speaking of packages. I have a question. Would it be posible for you to be able to send whenever you send the photo album to send a cd from like Trumen G. Madsen, I think it's, "Lectures on Faith by Joseph Smith". Or from Elder Gene R. Cook. They have some great talks. Or if not those maybe a book. Lectures on Faith or Articles of Faith by Talmage. I don't know. If you can but if not don't even worry about it. I will definitely live trust me. But anyway. I am fantastic. We have had a good week. Ok like the last two days or something where good. We pretty much doubled our lessons yesterday. We taught like 6 lessons yesterday. Sundays are always the best days. But yea we had a good week. I'm trying to remember what we did. Besides the Zone Conference and the snow. I don't think that we did anything. Well besides teach and all that fun stuff that we normally do. So I don't think it's like that exciting that I haven't already told you. So sorry ha.

Sounds like you had a good week. With shooting pictures and stuff. I'm glad that everything turned out. You will have to congradulate Shelby for me. That is awesome! And I'm glad you guys had a good Easter. We did too. Luckily I didn't have to talk like Kris did. But that is cool that she did good. And he Kris good job for not crying one single time!!!! ;) haha. But no we didn't eat with a member. Well we did but we ate with Mamita just like every other Sunday. We never eat just on our own mom. We eat with them every day. On Tuesdays we have meal appointments with members and Monday we cook our own food because it's P-Day. But that is about it. So we were with Mamita, Papito, and Paula. Just like every other day pretty much. But it was awesome. I'm not complaining at all. It was good. But I'm glad that everything went well for you guys. And especially in Hawaii! I love the pictures. I want to go back. For real. I love it there. But I love it here also. So I'm good with whatever. Hopefully your week goes well! Especially since your all super busy. I hope that all is good. Especially with dad taking classes and you busy everynight mom. But hopefully all goes well. Just think. In one week I will know if I am leaving Puerto Natales or not. So that is something to look forward too right? That's cool that your reading the Doctrine and Covenents with me. It is awesome. I am in Section 30 now. So I will read that tomorrow. But they are awesome. We talked a lot about Section 88 in the Zone Conference. But anyway I love you guys to death! Oh yea and make sure you tell Natalie and Dave hi for me in Ken Garff and all the other guys there!! Tell them I'm doing great and they are all awesome. How much do they have to do to the truck? Just a question. But ok I love you. Hope that everything is going good for you right now in your lives. I know that the Savior lives and that he is a resurected being. And perfect. He is amazing and he loves us so very much!! He lives!!

Hello from Puerto Natales

Hey fam how are you?!

So I'm doing great this p day. I is super rainy but what can you do. Like yesterday was like the worst day that we have had I'm pretty sure. We were soaked!! Like all of our stuff got soaked too. Elder Abel (my comp) had all of his stuff get wet! Like his Book of Mormon and Bible. So he was pretty upset. We were in the rain like all day. We taught one lesson. But he was really awesome. He is a new. We are finding some really awesome people we just have to get back into their house. That is the problem. But his books and all his documents got wet and stuff. I feel bad. He did pretty good at getting things back to order. Well his documents. He ironed them and threw some books on top. Those look good at least. But all my clothes were just soaked. It was just bad. But we are good here today. It's been raining but not too bad. Just sprinkling. It's ok. But we are just hanging out. We have been in the house like all day because it's been raining and we just don't have anything to do. So it has been just really relaxed and hanging out. But I finally just pulled out my boots and I'm going to be using them today. Oh and I am getting my scripture stuff soon. Well I'm ordering it but I'm met the lady and stuff and she is going to do it really fast because they are friends with Paula or the daughter of papito and mamita. So I'm super excited about that. But it has been a good week. We have had success. And a little miracle happened yesterday. We have members from Argentina because we are the closest building to them. And they have a little brother who is staying with them and they want him to get baptized. He is 11 years old. So he has come to church with me 2 times already and so all we have to do is teach him and I'm pretty sure that is what we are going to do and he can get baptized technically in two weeks once he comes to church one more time with me. So we are really excited for that. They want him baptized because he is living with them. So that is really awesome. We are getting a little miracle from the Lord. It's awesome to see. We are super excited!!

But other than that we are just having a great time in Puerto Natales. Just teaching the sector to my new comp. He is from Washington. But he graduated the same year I did but went to Notre Dame instead of working. So that was cool. Going to Punta Arenas was fun. Like always we just sat on the bus for 3 hours. But we slept because we left in the morning at 7 and had to wake up early at like 5ish. Because Elder Ruettinger had to finish packing. But that time went by way too fast. Just weird to think that I'm up next. It doesn't even feel like I've been here for that long. It's crazy. I did get my package but I haven't opened it yet. I figured I'd wait because I'm not going to have anything else right? So I figured it be better to wait and have something on my birthday. But I'm ok with waiting.

So I sent you guys the big one because I figured that I would probably get another big one for me too. Just because that is a part of Chile especially down here in the south with the Maupuchans. They are the indians of southern Chile. Some type of Lamanites haha. But I can wait. Did you give them all out for me? Well the little ones. They are so funny. I'm pretty sure that we did go off of daylight savings but I don't even know. I'm pretty sure but I don't have any idea. But we are great here that's about all that I know. Oh but yes it is dark here a lot now. But I'm ok with it. It's awesome. I don't mind the dark. It's definitely easier to sleep haha even though we have huge blankets over the windows here. Everybody does. Or their blinds are really thick and they have two kinds of blinds. But either way it doesn't let any light in. So that is awesome. Oh just for your fun fact of the day. Yes the toilet does flush counter-clockwise. So yes it's very entertaining. Very fun. But as for the Southern Cross I have not seen it. There hasn't been like a ton of constillations or stars. But oh well what can you do?

Wow you guys are doing good with the Book of Mormon. I'm in Ether like 8-10. I can't remember exactly. But I know that I'm almost done. And when I finish I am going to start the Doctrine and Covenents for my Personal Study. Well part of it. So that is going to be great!!

Well we are working hard!! I love all you guys so much and I hope that your having a great week and day and life haha. But I hope to hear from all of you soon. I know that I'm here for a reason and I'm doing my best to find that reason. I love the Gospel and our Savior. I am trying to bring people unto him to make their lives better. And I know that is what our message is. Happiness. It's amazing. Well I love you guys. Thanks for all the support and love in return!! Talk to you guys later.

Love,

Elder Tyler Jolley

P.S. Sorry I don't have any new pics yet to send to you guys. Next week hopefully!

Hello From Beautiful Puerto Natales

Hey how are you guys?!

So exciting news! I sent the package!! I did it like an hour ago. So here is the code so you can find it CP356969213CL. So hopefully you will enjoy the stuff in it :) There isn't too much but there is something for Kory and Diek too. So if you could give both to Kory so he could get it to Diek or something? I would appriciate it very much. I hope you love my little surprise. It's awesome and a very big part of Chile. Well southern Chile.haha But wow it has been a better week don't even worry!! A lot better. We had a bunch of lessons well like 8 if that is a bunch. But we just planned a bunch of days to knock doors. Because we don't have like any investigators... They are not progressing. So we pretty much are just going to start over with some new ones. So we have planned everyday pretty much just to knock doors for like 2-3 hours a day. We seriously don't have anyone. It's horrible. But I hope that it will pick up soon. We are doing good though. Not giving up hope even though I'm pretty sure that you saw that it is getting pretty freezing here. Like in the south of the world I guess you have only have like winter for 8 months and summer for like 4. How would've thought. But we are good still working hard. It has gotten a little bit colder here and I pulled out some of my winter clothes. But I love it. I just wish there was snow and that I could snowboard ;) That is one thing I miss along with Kory and Diek. But I will be there to go with them again soon. Very soon. The time is going by so fast here. I'm not going to lie. We are both learning spanish good and that's what I heard happens. People who come down here to the south come back and they know spanish and they become leaders faster. That is what I have heard. And that I have heard that Puerto Natales here is where a lot of leaders come. SO that has me a bit worried. But whatever I should be good.If I am called as a leader that would be awesome. But anyways. That is pretty much what has happened to us this week. Nothin too exciting. Just walking around and knocking a lot of doors everyday. That is where we got like 6 of our 8 lessons. From knocking. But whatever we will teach them again and then we can find new investigators. That is what I'm excited for. But yes I was super excited to get the package. Because 1st, gravy doesn't exist in Chile. 2nd, you sent those breakfast shakes!! And 3rd, because it was a package haha. THose are always fun. But anyways thank you.

I am good with coming back here. I want to come back here so bad after the mission. See all my old sectors and we could come back in October because it should be like summerish. But seriously? Your cousins son is coming here? I'm pretty upset that I didn't get to go surfing with him but that would be awesome if we were comps!! I'll just have to go out to cali to surf with him after the mission right? When I go see Kory's family. Wow he enters June 20th?!?! That's forever! Ok not really but I will have a year at that point! What if I trained him?? That would be pretty awesome!!!!!!! I'd love that!

Ok and I did send that card home in the package, I didn't format it so don't worry. It will be good.

Well I love you guys! I hope everything is continuing to go great for you!! And that you have a good week. I definitely want to see pictures from you guys too. This isn't just a one way service here come on now. But I am sending some. But I had the chance this last sunday to direct the fast and testimony meeting. That was aweosme and I had a good time. It was a great experience. I know the Church is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that Pres. Monson is a prophet also to lead us. I love the stories in the B.o.M. and I love reading it. I am starting 3 Nephi tomorrow when Jesus Christ comes to the Americas and I'm really excited!! Well I love you!! Have a great day!!

Love,

Elder Tyler Jolley

I LOVE Puerto Natales

Hey fam!

I'm doing good don't even worry! Except the fact that we are in the place that the internet is really slow and that my camera battery is dead!! But other than that I'm doing great! We went to the entrance of Puerto Natales and took pictures because there are some sweet things up there!! But I can't really use my camera because it's dying and these computers suck. But I got some sweet pictures!! I was also thinking about sending my card home so you could have all my pictures after I put them on to my hard drive so you can save them and also put them on the blog. How would that go? But I need to fill it up first. Just because it's not all the way full. But I would need you to send one back to me.. That's the only problem. Because my card that was in the camera when my last one broke I don't think it is going to work again. I have to take it to a guy that probably can fix it. He is pretty smart and can take a look at it. But it is my card with all my stuff from the MTC. So I really hope that it isn't broken. I really want it. So we will see. I really hope so that he can!!

But I am doing really good. I love Puerto Natales!! We have cambios this week on wednesday but they told us yesterday that we are both staying here. So we are staying with our isolated little selves!! But I'm excited because I love Mamita and Papito and Paula and that means that I am going to be here for my birthday with them unless they white wash the area!!!! So I am super exicted for that. But yes we are in charge of the Branch still! They left to Osorno on Thursday and they are going to be there for a month so we are here for the next month in charge. They are getting back here on the 23 of February and so we will have lunch with them on the 24th so that is going to a fun day because they will be getting back and because of Nat. An awesome day right?! But I'm super excited for that day!! It is going to be amazing. But today I read about Nephi and Lehi preaching the gospel and converting thousands of Lamanites in Helamen 5. So I think it's safe to say that I'm still winning for now ;) But it's awesome. I love all the stories in this book! It's a pretty amazing book. And speaking of which thank you for the money for those cases! I'm so excited and I'll take a picture with them when I get them. They are going to be awesome!! But they are like the ones Alan has and the only person who makes them in the mission are here in Punta Arenas. So I'm super excited!!

José is doing good. But he just isn't reading the things we leave him. He has met with missionaries for a long time and told the last ones that he wants to follow his religion but he knows the Book of Mormon is the word of God. But he wants to learn more about Joseph Smith now. But I think he will be golden in a little bit. That's about it for him. I can't really find too much more to say about him. He just isn't keeping his commitments.

Still haven't found a family to teach. That's what we are trying to focus on is getting families but we just aren't finding any. That's the bad part.

I'm glad that I'm your favorite subject to talk about. That is pretty awesome. That must be pretty good. And I'm glad that I can help out. But I just wanna say I love you guys. I do think about you often and I might need a little money to send home a package that I have a couple things so it's a good thing that I have money right? But I love you and I am out of time right now and I need to go but I know that the Savior lives and loves all of you and I pray for all of you everyday. I hope you can see the blessings in your life from it. But anyways The Plan of Salvation is real and we will live forever. That is the joy. Forever and together. I love you guys!!

Un abrazo
Con amor

Heading South - My First Transfer in Chile

Querido familia y amigos,

So I have something to tell you first before I start my letter...... I got a phone call yesterday and it was President Rappleye. He told me that he is sending me home..... I don't even know why. He just said I can't be here anymore.. I don't know what to do?

Hahahaha ok ok just kidding. But seriously he called me to tell me I can't be here anymore. Well he didn't say those exact words. He told me I'm going with an Elder who came down to Chile with me. We have the same amount of time. So it's going to be interesting. But I'm leaving Los Muermos. I'm going to a place called Puerto Natales. He told me it's the most beautiful sector in PUNTA ARENAS!!!!!!!!! I fly out in two days. And I'm in a sector that is pretty much isolated. It's like 2-3 hours in bus from Punta Arenas. And so it will be me and my companion for the cambio alone. We won't see anyother missionaries for the 6 weeks. It's going to be good. I'm so excited! Normally when Elders go south they go for 6 Months and so when I return from down there I will most likely have a year on my mission. That is so nuts to think!! But I'm so excited to go down. And this is the only place in the mission that we can get the leather cases for scriptures like Alan has. So I'm excited because I wanted some of those. There is also a National Park there that only the missionaries in Puerto Natales can go to. So that will be fun! And hopefully there are penguins I hope so!! But also it's a HUGE tourist spot so there should be lots of Americans there and it's going to be a really good experience. I'm super excited I can't wait til my Christmas Party! I'm hoping that they haven't already had their's down in the Sur. But we will see right? I just want a Christmas party they are always so fun. And hopefully it will help with my first Christmas away from home. I'm hoping that it will anyways

I love the Book of Mormon. So many sweet stories!! It's awesome. I will try to record the memories in my Journal. Sometimes it's hard to write in it but I am trying harder and harder to write every night. But I want to keep them for my life. I love the traditions here and the food. It's so FATTENING!! They deep fry everything and I mean EVERYTHING! That is the bad part. But I'm trying to excercise and stay not fat. Haha we will see.

I know that the Gospel is true and Christ lived for us and still lives. He is amazing. I have been reading from Jesus the Christ. I have been trying to ready it and I'm in like chapter 3. It's hard but it's awesome. Builds my Testimony everyday! Well everytime I read it. But I know it's real without a doubt in my mind. I'm doing good and I'm happy. It's just nuts to think I have 6 months already. The time has gone by so fast and only gets faster once I can speak with everybody and understand everything they say to me. But I love it. Nothing like the Mission right?

Warming Up

Dear Familia!
Hey how is everything going? I am doing good this beautiful P-day. It's actually kind of hot here. I'm in a short sleeve shirt right now. And we had Helados. Ice Cream. I have some pictures and they are of My last day with Elder Richan in the bus terminal. And with Hna. Alicia. She is our President of the Relief Society. She is awesome and practically my mom so you don't need to worry about me. She even gives us food when the members don't give us lunch on sunday's because they forgot and she goes and buys it no matter how much we tell her she can't go buy any because it's the Sabbath. She just gets mad at us and does it anyways. She is such a sweetheart. I love her to death. And I'm trying to remember what other pictures I have on there. Oh our bathroom!!! It is destroyed. Well was. It had so many holes in the floor from past Elders who showered with the curtain on the outside of the tub. But now we have a bathroom that is like the states!!! I am still going to take pictures I just haven't yet sorry. But it's awesome!! I love it. And I have Pulgas. I hate pulgas. I keep forgetting to tell you about them. But I have had them Pretty much my entire time here. They are worse in the smaller towns like Muermos. So hopefully I don't get stuck with them my whole mission like Elder Richan. You should see his legs. Freakin nasty because he scratches and they break open and bleed. They are like misquitos. But a Pulga is Flea. It's because there are so many dogs here in the streets. They bug me so bad. So we have to spray our house with Raid all the time so the fleas leave. I did that yesterday. It sucks pretty bad.
So anyways. We had a special Devotional the other day. Elder Snow from the 70 came and talked to us. And also President Corbridge and President Rappleye was there. So we had 2 members from the 70 and President Rappleye. It was really awesome. He spoke on what we need to do. Using the Hymns when we teach. They teach basic doctrine. So it was really sweet. They invite the spirit and everything. Set the mood. I've only used them in the Family Home Evenings. But he said use them in with the investigators too. Elder Snow doesn't know Spanish so when he spoke President Rappleye translated for all the Latins. But it was awesome. I understood pretty much everything. It's easier to understand the Greengos than the Latins so haveing this conference was easy to understand the Greengos. Having a latin comp helps a lot. But the conference was so sweet!
We are starting to find more people so that is good. And we are starting to teach a little bit more I think. Maybe about the same but oh well it is good. And The language is coming better and better. I have a sweet little activity-display for the Plan of Salvation that I'm going to take a picture of it and send it to you. I'm coloring it right now. It's pretty sweet. I hope you like it. I got it from Elder Cayoja. But we are teaching Pedro, Latica, and their son Ernan. And also Leonardo, and also Hna. Lucy and also Irene. Thay are all awesome people. I hope they do good in their lifes.
.Well I love all you guys!! I love seeing pictures and hearing about everything. I really am doing good and I know that everything you said is true about Christ in his Birthplace in all those places you went. That is so awesome! But I know that he died for us and that he is our Savior and Redeemer. He loves us and wants us to live with him again and we will. I know that we will all live with him again. This is an amazing place and I'm glad that I'm here in Chile. It's amazing and I love the people. I miss all of you guys in home every single one of you!
Love this couple!
