"Yea, and that same God did establish his church among them; yea, and that same God hath called me by a holy calling, to preach the word unto this people and hath given me much success, in the which my joy is full." - Alma 29:13

Hey how is everything going? We are doing really well. We had a good week. We are staying together. So I think that we had the emergency cambios because President didn't want to spend more money to come back here together and then have to travel 2 weeks later for the cambios. So he just changed us then. I think that the same thing will happen with me. We have Zone Conference this cambio so I think that I will be taken out instead of come back to Chaitén and then have to go back a couple weeks later. So I don't know what is going to happen. But we are doing well. This last week we were able to teach a little bit. We went out to a member who lives like 5 hours walking. He lives pretty far. But we hitchhike. A couple who has been in Chile and Argentina for almost a year picked us up in their old VW van. They are from Belgium so it was cool. They speak like 5 languages. They speak 3 native languages there. And they learned English from watching movies with subtitles because all the movies there are in English. So that was lucky for us because they didn't speak too much spanish. But the were cool. They were really nice. I enjoyed the short time that we were there with them. So then they dropped us off and we went to Santa Barbara and to the beach a little. We got some good pictures and videos of some seals that were playing around in the beach. So then we continued our trip to the members. It was a long trip. It took like all day for us to get there to his house. We got home at like 9. And that is because the Branch President came and picked us up because he wanted to visit them too. But it was a good trip. I enjoyed it a lot. Other than that we have had a good week. We have been talking to a lot of people but nothing yet with any investigators. We will find some soon. I know that we will. We weren't able to teach too much this week but it went well. Not too much rain. That was the good part. It was raining a little bit today but not much. So that was good. But we went to a beach a little bit south of where we are at. There wasn't too much to see there. Some old boats but other than that we just took a couple pictures. We are good though. A good week. We are going to hang out the rest of the day though. I don't know what else we are going to to. We are going to make some lunch though. That will be good haha. So yea we are going to have a good week. Sorry it's been kind of boring so there isn't much to say about our week.

So just a note about U of U and the ROTC. Elder Nuttall told me that ROTC is not the way to go. Yea it pays but he said that he wouldn't recommend it. He practically said it was Hell haha. So I don't know if that's what I want to do. I will see what happens. I'll think about it. I will let you know though. But hopefully everything goes well with U of U. I would love to go there. That would be sweet. Hopefully everything goes good. I don't know where those documents are mom. Sorry. I don't know what to tell you about that..

The cake we are going to bake it. I don't have anything to really make it with. Our oven is a wood stove. We have to keep warm with wood. So it is difficult to tell the temperature of what I am cooking. I am going to talk to the mamita to see what she can do to help us. She always makes cakes so we will see. But anyway I still have it for now. But not for too long. I will be doing it.

So other than that I hope that I have answered your questions ha. Sorry it's kinda short. I'm out of time. But I love you guys tons. Have a great day and week. I hope that everything goes well. I will talk to you guys next week. I'll let you know of any changes that might happen don't worry. I love you guys tons. Have a great week.

More from Chaiten

So this wonderful scripture case came in a package from Southern Chile.  We were so excited to see the young man standing with Captain Moroni on the front.  The wonderful talents of the people of Chile!

Hey how is everything going?

Hopefully everything is going good with everybody. I have had a good week. We were able to go today and take some good pictures and also I was able to write some letters to a couple of people that I have recieved recently because I get mail so little here. When we go to Pto. Montt and we see the Zone Leaders. So haha I have been writing a little bit. But it was a good day. We got some good pictures and everything. I enjoyed the day. But we were able to go to a Lighthouse that we have here in Chaitén and so it was cool. We were trying to find a lagoon that some people told us about. But we have to ask permission to go because the entrance is inside of a fence where somebody lives. So we are going to do it next week. But it was good. We will do it. I didn't even know that there was a lagoon here. So it will be cool to go. But that was our day until now. My comp slept a little bit but I was writing. I don't know when I am going to be able to send those letters. When I go to Pto. Montt. Maybe right before I leave Chile hahaha. But whatever. If that's how it goes then that's how it is going to be. But yea. It's been kind of a boring day. Well not boring but just that we didn't do too much. Now we are writing haha. But yea thanks for all the letters that I recieved. And Mom, I did recieve the picture. he is a cute little guy. I'm glad that everything is ok with him and Kourt. Send my love. And Mel, thanks for the video. I was able to see it. he is big now. I can't believe he is so big. Well it's because I don't know him but it doesn't seem that long ago that you told me he was born. It's just weird. I guess it's just that the time goes so fast here. It's weird to think that I have a little more than a month. It has just flown. But I am finishing strong. I don't ever really think of home so don't worry about me haha. I am focused and everything. Don't think that I'm trunky and just want to come home. Haha. Just so you know.

But anyway hey mom when is the convention? I would love to go. I just have to know because Diek told me that one of our friends is getting married like the 12th or 15th of June. I would like to be there if it's possible. I don't know what do you think?  If it is going to be after the 20thish I would love to go. I don't mind. I just would like to be there for my bud who is going to be getting married. But you can go ahead and buy me a ticket. That would be cool if you want to.
So yesterday was good I guess haha. We had 8 people in church including us. It was raining and there were not too many who showed up. I guess they all have there excuses but whatever. The earliest to show up was the Branch President. And he showed up at like 10:20ish. He said he had something to take care of. But I can't judge anybody right? I don't know. But yea it was good. I had to give the class from Pres. Lorenzo Snow. It was good. We just got the class and started so I gave class number 1 haha. But it was good.
So I don't know why we had Emergency Cambios. Probably to save money and I had a thought come lately and a couple dreams haha that I was going to be leaving this sector this next week and I will die in another sector. But I don't know. I can't say that it will happen. But Elder Vasquez says that we will see what happens next week. To be able to see why we had the cambios. Because he doesn't know why we had them either. So it is just kind of strange. We will see. If nothing happens this next week it was to save money so that we didn't have to travel again 3 weeks after we did. But I don't really know. I'll let you know next week though so that we all know. But the boat that we took there are seats like recliners. It was a different boat than the boat with the benches. So we were able to sleep a little bit. But now much. It was still uncomfortable. Having to sleep there 2 nights in a row. But whatever. It was fun, worth the experience right? haha. It was awesome. Something that I'll probably never do again so it's ok.
Thanks for your love and support that you always give me. I hope that you have a great week. I can't wait to hear from you next week. The time is going so fast. I don't know where this last week. But I know that the Gospel is true and that we are a forever family. I have no doubt of a Prophet who loves and guides us. I have a great testimony of this work now. A lot bigger than it was at home. I love the Gospel. And am grateful for the things that it teaches. I love you guys tons. I will be talking to you next week. Thanks for all that you do. And for your love and support that you all give to me. I hope that everything goes well this week. Have a great day and week.

Hey From Chaiten

Hey first off I want to thank everybody for your birthday wishes for me today. We have had a good day so far. We relaxed in the house a little bit then we went to eat lunch with our mamita. I don't know what else we are going to do today. Hang out and go buy food and stuff. Take some pictures maybe. It is probably just going to be a really chill day. Even though it is weird to think that it's been a year since my last birthday. It's crazy how fast the time goes. Just nuts. But thanks everybody for the letters that you sent me wishing a happy birthday.

Mom don't worry about a birthday package. It's probably in Pto. Montt right now. We just have to ask the Zone Leaders to send it in bus so that we can get it. But it's all good if there isn't anything to open. That's not what a birthday is all about ha. So don't worry mom. We are doing really well. We have had a good week. We were able to teach 2 lessons to an investigator. We had about 11 people in church and we had 0 investigators in church haha. But it's all good. We are going to work this week to get some investigators in church. We have a couple or 1 that is really good. I haven't taught him yet but we just need to find him. We couldn't pass by because we both had alittle bit of a cold. He didn't want his son to catch it. So we haven't been able to go. But we are going to pass by now. We are going to go today. Hopefully it's the day.. But we are doing well. We will get him. We were able to do some service. We painted a room upstairs to some ladies' house and helped them out a little bit with that. The thing is that the house is really old haha. So I knelt down and almost fell to the 1st floor. A wood plank thing broke and I fell a little bit nothing big. It was really more funny than anything. She told me not to worry about it and that the house is really old so things happen like that. She said that they are still in the process of fixing everything. So that was good that she wasn't mad ha. But just things like that is what we do here. We walk in the street offer service. But what Pres. Rappleye wants is that we can make friends with the people and then bring up the Gospel. That is what we are trying to do. But yea that was our big service for the week. And actually they own a restraunt on the first floor. There are only a couple places to eat out here but thats ok. I think we might go eat later. We are pretty full now. The mamita gave us a bunch of food. She is really good. She is a nice lady. She likes to pick fights with us as jokes so it's always fun at lunch. But anyway we don't just only serve. We look for oppurtinities to teach but sometimes they don't come like we want the to is all. But it's ok. It will progress, the work. Church went well. It was 2 hours like always haha. But a less active member that we are working with came. Actually he owns this internet place where we are at. But he is a good guy. So we got that he came for a little bit. It was good to see him. No, Luckly I didn't have to speak again. But I have an assaignment. I have to teach 2 of the 4 weeks of Sunday School. Since we don't have Priesthood or Relief Society, My companion will teach 2 weeks of Gospel Doctrine and I will teach 2 weeks of The Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Lorenzo Snow. So that is what is going on here in the Branch. We are also having an activity here this Friday. We are excited for that. We are also still planning what we are going to do haha. But it will come. I am also excited for General Conference that comes very very soon. We are hoping to see it in the church. We are trying to borrow a projector to use one of my sheets as a background and then we are going to us the Wi-Fi of the plaza that is close. I think that we can use it from where we live. So hopefully everything goes well with that. But the other lady who lives in the building is not a member. She is just a friend of the lady who we rent from. But she is moving out in April and the whole house will be ours to use. That is the good thing. I'm excited for that. It will be a whole lot bigger. It is a bigg house but right now we use a room for the Sacrament room. That is it for church. One little room. The rest of it is our house and her house. So that will be good.

Sounds awesome the activity in YW that you guys had mom. That would be really awesome. It would have been fun to be able to do it and see it. I'm glad that you were able to do it. Sounds like the girls learned a lot and so did everybody else. Not only the girls but the participents in everything.

Dad, thanks for your letter that you sent me. It is awesome to hear about your mission experiences. I don't know why I never asked to hear about them before I left. I would love to hear about them. It is also good to see that we have passed some of the same stuff in the mission even though the countries are so far away from each other. Thanks for your love dad and support as your son. I'm glad to have you and mom. Have a great week. Love ya tons.

Hopefully we will have a good week this week. And a good day of course. But that is pretty much everything that is happening here in Chaitén. We are doing well. We are better from our colds and everything. So that is the good thing. We are going to keep going with what we are doing and helping the people here in this sector. I hope that you guys have a great day and a great week. I can't wait to talk to you next week. Hopefully everything goes well and that you all have great blessings in store. Until next week. Love you all. Your friend.

Moving to Chaiten

Hey eveybody! How is it going?

I am doing well.   To start off your 20 questions that everybody is asking about Chaitén.. We had cambios Wednesday right? well we didn't leave until Thursday in the morning at 7. We were just hangin out in Pto. Montt. So our bus left at 7 in the morning and we didn't get to Chaitén until about 5-6 in the evening. But it was beautiful the ride. We headed out and were on the ride for about 1 hour or so then we came to the first farry. (I don't know how you spell it..) Then that was about another hour or so. Then we were on the bus for another 2 hours I think.. Then the second farry. That was a 4 hour ride. Then we got off and we were on the bus for like 30 min.-1 hour and had a 3rd farry ride for an hour about. Then the rest was bus. But it was awesome. On the 4 hour farry ride we got off. I took pictures and we just hung out. It is crazy. But it was awesome. So we made it.. Then yesterday for my first day in church.. We had 8 people including us. But it was strange because the weeks before they had like 25. That was the most that had gone before. But I don't know what happened. Last week they had 13. So I was informed wrong haha. But it's all good. I got there and I had to present myself and give like a 15 minute talk haha. But it's all good. I figured that we would be doing something like that. So another fun fact of the day. I am like a Preacher of another religion haha. We live in the church. It is just a little house and We live inside that house. It is separated in 3 parts. 1 part is our house. It's the biggest part. We have an upstairs and downstairs.. (I haven't taken pictures yet sorry.) And then we have the Sacrament room. It's pretty small. Then there is another part that is blocked off. That is were some lady lives. So we actually are probably the only missionaries that live alone with some lady. But her part is blocked off thankfully ha. No she is really nice. But yea that is our church. I'll take pictures soon. Oh and another cool thing about us is that we only go to church for 2 hours. Because we don't have sufficient to break off in Priesthood and Relief Society. So we don't have it. We have Sacrament Meeting and Sunday School. That is it. So that is pretty cool. Haha but we are working to get more members. But that is pretty much what is going on here in Chaitén. It is gorgeous. But we haven't been able to leave to take pictures yet. We were playing some basketball this morning. Just us two. There are only 2 of us here in this little town. 2 missionaries in about a days travel. Haha well by bus. But it's all good. It's fun. Oh and mom just so you know. I didn't get my package. Hopefully they will send it to us. The Zone Leaders should send it to us by bus and we just go pick it up when it arrives. But we will see about that. If not. I should get it at cambios. I think that Elder Villarreal and I will only be together 1 cambio. It is his 4th here and so he won't be with me to kill me then he would die here too. And he would be here for a long time. So when I go to get my new comp in a while I will probably get it if it isn't this cambio. But I hope that it's soon. So yea that is about what has happened. We are going to go buy some stuff soon and maybe take some pics. But don't worry we will be sending some soon. I promise. I have a couple from the 4 hour farry that I am going to send right now. But some from here in Chaitén will be soon also. We are doing well. It has been an adventure so far but it's been good. It's awesome here. I am loving it. I need to be better at writing in my journal though. I write but every once in a while ha. I've been bad and good during my mission. I'll do better I promise.

It is good to hear that everything is well with you guys at home. I'm glad that the Chili's give back went well. Well I hope that it went well. I am glad that everybody is healthy and happy and doing well. Sounds fun that you went to Tucanos. I've been there once. I went with Kory and some of the boys. It was good. I liked it a lot. But yea I hope that you are all doing well. I can't wait to hear from you guys next week. Sorry it's a little short and everything but I hope that it answers all your questions that you guys have. I am doing very well. You don't have to worry about me. Just pray that the volcano doesn't errupt again ;) haha just joking. It won't. It's cool to watch because it smokes and everything. But we are being protected. Don't worry. But thanks for everything. For the love and support. YOur all awesome and I love every single one of you! Have a great week and we will see you guys soon and hear from you soon too. Thanks for everything and the letters. Have a great week and day.

Leaving Beautiful Valdivia

Hey everybody,

So here is the news. I am leaving after 6 months here in the sector. So here is what is going down. Where I'm going is a new sector. It has been open for like 4-5 months. It's down in Puerto Montt, so yes in my mission I will have 6 sectors and 3 zones. But it is a place called Chaiten. What happened is there is a brief story. A couple years ago a volcano errupted and it was covered with ash. And now it's good. They had to take everyone out and everything. But now there is a little branch. It consists of about 5 members I've heard. So it will be fun. They now have a Branch President. So that is the good thing. But anyway I heard that we can't really do much contacts or anything. It is just a little place of about a 1000 people in population. So I have to travel to Puerto Montt and from there I take like an 8 hour boat ride. I think. But I'm really excited. I heard that they don't teach much but that we mostly do service. So we will see what happens. I can't wait to see how it is. I am going with an Elder from my group. His name is Elder Villarreal. I think he is from Bolivia. So there is number 3.But we will see what goes down. I'm super stoked. I am also being lowered from District Leader for this job. What I've heard is that President has dropped a lot of Elders to go there. He has dropped like 3 Zone Leaders to go to this sector. So It should be fun and good. I a really excited. I am sad that I am leaving this sector but it is for the best. I've been here forever. So it's all good right? I'll have lots of good experiences where I'm going. I haven't seen pictures or anything so you will have to look. I heard that it is beautiful. I hope that it is. I will probably be there for the next 3 months so hopefully it's not too ugly haha. But I think it will be great. So yea that is what is going on with my cambio. That is probably where I will be dying.

In other news we are doing well. The sector is good. Makarena came to church last week. But she said that after everything that has happened she doesn't want to get baptized. I don't know what happened but we can't force her. I don't know. But also Kena is really close. They will be getting some baptisms soon. I know that they will have success here. It really is a good sector. I love it a lot. I'm going to miss it. I don't know. But whatever. I will be good. I'm super excited for this next cambio to see what happens.

So everybody is doing well. Elder Trujillo got an emergency cambio like I said the last time. He went to Lanco. But he just got called as Assistant so he is in Osorno now. That is really sweet. I'm excited for him. And Elder Trejo was out and about today. He seems to be doing better. that is the good thing. I'm glad that he has been able to get out and walk and get some air a little bit. That is the important and also that he is feeling better. Because he is a good elder.

So F.Y.I. I just got a call from President Rappleye and he told me about this sector. He says that it is very different from all the other sectors. He said that I am going to make friends with the people make sure that they love the missionaries and don't think that we are going to pressure them but we are here to support and love them. So he said that my calling there will be a little different than before. He said that I just need to go and love the people and help them get their houses out of ash and everything. So we are going to see how it goes. I'm really excited now. He explained it and now I'm stoked. So yea..

But anyway we are doing well. It was a good week. We are going to enjoy the last couple days together and then I will be gone. I'm excited.

Dad is so funny. He has always been funny. I'm glad that he had a good birthday and that Adams birthday goes well too. I am glad to hear that everything is going well. Even though you are getting older. Haha no just joking. But anyway just a question.. Have you heard anything from the schools? Just a question.

I'm glad that everything is going well with you guys. I hope you have a great week. I will be in Chaiten next week when we talk but I love you guys tons. I hope that you have a great week and that you guys are safe and have a good week. Ha. But I am glad that I got your letters. I hope that everything goes well. And I'm very thankful for your support and love. Have a great week and I will be talking to you soon. I love you guys tons. Talk to you soon!!

Hey how is everything going?

We are doing well. From Thursday we had an add on.. We had interviews
with President Rappleye and then I had a meeting that night with him
and all the Zone Leaders/District Leaders from 3 zones. So that was
really good. I was able to meet up with Elder Barker and Elder Bosse.
They were both in my MTC district and we were the only 3 from the
district to come to this mission. And so we took a picture together
and with President Rappleye because we met him in the MTC too. We are
from his very first group as a Mission President. So that was really
awesome. So it was a good meeting. Then after, Elder Mendoza (from my
District) had emergency exchanges the other week and another Elder
came up form Puerto Montt with him, well he went back to his sector on
Thursday and now we are in a 3some. We have 3 missionaries. It is a
little wierd and a little strang but you know whatever. It happens.
But we have been having fun. And it has gotten a little annoying
sometimes. But we are dealing with it. So yea that has been our last
week. It has gone well. Then I talked to the Zone Leaders the other
night and we got our
cambios!!............................................................................................................................
I am staying with Elder Nuttall for our 3rd cambio together! I will be
6 months here in this sector. But after that I will only have 2
cambios more. That is the wierd thing. But it's all good. So I am
really excited. Our investigators are starting to progress more and
more. I am really excited that I am staying here for a little bit. So
I will be here for another 5 weeks. They are changing the cambios to 5
weeks I'm pretty sure. So I will just be home a week earlier. Because
I am pretty sure that we are closer to the MTC date than the other
missions who are having a 4 week cambio. That must be it. So that is
what is going on with us. We are going to have a 5 week cambio I
think. But that is all good. I'm pretty excited that we are staying
together. We are going to go out and baptize!! I know that we are
going to.

So today I don't think that we are doing anything. Just because people
want to pack or something. I don't know. But whatever. We are going to
go do things us three. We are going to eat and probably sleep hahaha.
I am so tired. And I need to write a letter. But it's all good I will
be able to do it. Oh just to let you know, we aren't with our same
Mamita now. We changed. They were bad. I think that they were using
the money for something else. So it is good that we are gone. I am
excited to be in the mamita now. They are an awesome family!! I'm
really excited. I'll take pictures with them to send. But no the last
day that we ate with the other family, he brought us three two little
things of some potatoe crap about the size of my camera. Maybe
smaller. So he brought 6 and they probably cost about a dollar or
less. That is the thing. They were just keeping the money I think. I
don't know. But the money isn't for them. President Rappleye told me
to talk to them and tell them that to be mamita is a calling not a
job. It's not to get gain and it's to serve the missionaries. So that
is the thing. I don't know. I am just glad that we are gone.

That is cool about all our missionaries in the ward. That is such a
good blessing. There are like 3 in our stake here ha. But that is so
sweet about Cami Palmer. I am super jealous. I promise that I will go
there some day and I will see a game of the Eagles. Just an F.Y.I.
haha. But that is awesome that we have so many people who are leaving
now and who are willing to serve. The Lord is building his Kingdom. He
needs more and more missionaries. That is awesome. So it sounds like
you guys have had a lot of fun lately. Lots of sickness and lots of
cold. I am dying of heat here. Sorry hahaha. But we are doing well.
Trying not to get too sunburnt because the sun here is different. The
O-Zone layer is disappearing so the sun is stronger here. It feels so
much hotter than it does there and we are only at like 90 degrees. We
hit over 100 like 1 or 2 times I think but it feels so much hotter. I
don't know. So we are using lots of sun screen. Don't worry.

SO we have a family that we found. His name is William, his wife is an
inactive member named Camila and they have an 1 year 10 month old baby
named Martina. And they came to church yesterday!! It was so awesome.
We have an appointment today so we are going to finish teaching the
Plan of Salvation probably. We have only taught them once but we are
excited for today. I can't wait to see how it goes.

That is about it! We have had a good week and we are looking for a
better one now. We are excited. I know that we will do good. Because
this is the Lord's work and he is on our side fighting with us. He
will help us and be our support. I love you guys tons!! Have a great
week and we will talk to you soon!!

Un abrazo,

Elder Tyler Jolley

Hey there!

Hey how is everything going? I am doing well. First off. Mom I did get
my card this last week. So you are good to activate it. And secondly,
cambios are next week. So we still have a week left. I don't know
where or if I am leaving. But I will probably know on Thursday.. We
have interviews with President Rappleye. So I will know but you guys
won't know haha. So yea sorry. That's what happens when I can't write
until Monday anyways. But yea so we are together for a week more at
least. I don't know. I have heard from a couple Elders that they think
that I will be leaving. We will see what happens right? I don't know.
Oh and I just want to ask for your forgivness with taking so much
money out lately. What happened is we don't know where our money went
this week... I don't know how we spent it all so quickly but we don't
have any money.... So we are kind of living off of personal money.. So
yea we are just trying to survive hahaha. I think that it might have
happened because our Mamita well Ronal has kinda messed us over with
our food. He doesn't give us pretty much anything. We normally get a
little bit of rice with like 2 eggs. And that is what we normally eat.
We don't know what he does with the money that the Church pays him
haha. But yea we are changing Mamitas so that is the good thing.
Because I think that is that we get hungary so we have to go in the
afternoon and we go buy something to eat. Like an empanada or
something just because we are starving. So that is my bad. It is just
for this week. I am going to have to buy some food so I have breakfast
haha. So yea that is why it probably looks like I'm just wasting the
money. But I'm really not. There is a good reason for it.

So our investigators are about the same. We still are teaching our
normal investigators. So that is good. We think that Makarena is going
to be baptized very soon. She is going to EFY and her and her dad had
a very strong discusion about that she can't just do everything that
the members do. She is more active than the members. He said that they
are like rewards for the kids you could say. Like going to the camping
trips and now that she is going to EFY. Just stuff like that. So he
said that he thinks that she is going to be getting baptized very very
soon. Hopefully. I hope she can. And also Hna. Kena is going to see
what happens with her divorce at the end of the month so after that
gets resolved she will be able to get baptized and her marrage and
everything. But she is doing really well. All of our investigators are
great. They are amazing people who mayorly want to listen and get
baptized they just have a little reason why they can't. I have already
explained all of them haha. But they are doing really well. Just need
like a little push you could say.

So that is nuts that Gavin and Brady are entering into the MTC. Send
them my love! They are good kids. That is just awesome that they will
be there together. At least for a little bit. I hope that all goes
well with them. Send my love to the family also. And that is also
pretty sick that the 49ers are in the Super Bowl. Hopefully they can
take it all the way and win it. I would like to see them win it. They
are still on of my favorite teams. It's just that the Eagles are my
favs. Ha.

We are doing well her Elder Nuttall and I. Just trying to figure out
what is going on in our sector. We have had a lot of trouble trying to
find and teach new investigators. But we are just still going. We
aren't going to give up with the investigators. President Rappley
wrote me and told me not to give up. Sometimes it happens where you
just have to start finding and everything. He also said that it
happens when the lessons fall a little. He is just super supportive
and there to help us. I am thankful for a great President like him. He
is awesome.

Oh before I forget. I want to study Mechanical Engineering. Not
Manufacturing. Just so you know. I really was thinking about trying at
the U of U. I am pretty sure that they have a great program there. So
yea. I don't know though. That would be great if you could look for me
and find out. But yea Find out also when they start haha. Please :)

Well I hope that you have a great week. I will talk to you soon. I
love you guys tons. Your such a great support and everything for me. I
hope that all goes well and that you get to do a bunch of stuff to
keep you busy. Have a great week! Love you.

Warmer Weather

Dear family and friends,

I just want to start off talking about the heat!! It has been so so soooo hot these last 3 days. I am probably a little sunburnt but whatever. Stuff happens right? So it has just been super hot. I also have lost 6 kilos. So that is about 13 pounds about. So I am loving that! I have been trying to loss weight. I hate gaining weight. It is horrible. Today we went to the harbor/river and were looking at the Sea Lions. They are HUGE!!! Here are a couple pictures of what we did before my camera died. That's why there aren't more haha but maybe next week. I am going to be in this sector for another 3 months at least. Because I just have an anouncment to make. I am going to be a father!!! I am training and so I have a son!!! I am really excited. It is going to be awesome. President Rappleye called me yesterday in the morning to tell me that I am going to train. So I will be going to Osorno on Wednesday to pick up my son. And I don't know his name or anything. But we will see what happens. The Zone Leaders won't tell me his name. But I'm pretty sure that they know his name. So they are just doing it because they are from my group. Both of them. We are going to be going home together. So they just like messin with me. So I am super excited. I will be training a new Elder these next two cambios.

It has been a good week. Nothing too different has gone on. Pretty much the same old stuff. But Hna. Kena is progressing so much!! She is going to be getting her divorce and then she is getting married with her boyfriend and we will be having a baptism. Just the part about when this is going to happen is the question. But I am really excited!! She has progressed and come a long way. It is so good to have some people who are starting to progress. And we have a lot of investigators who just need to get married and baptized. But they are really close. I am so excited that I am staying. We are growing so much as a ward!! Yesterday we had 72 people in church and it was the Primary Program so it was fun. I liked it.

Yes we heard about the elections. We had a bunch of people who stop and talk to us about everything. One guy told us that they are more "gringo" (as they call us from the United States) than the Mexicans. He said they are always worried about what is going on in the United States. And I found that to be true. They are always watching and just looking and wondering what is going on in the States. So yea we heard that Obama is in office again. What can you do right? I don't know. But only 4 more years right? Haha.

Sorry mom I didn't get to see any of the tulips. I couldn't do it sorry ha. It's probably because I'm in the city and there aren't very many tulip fields. But maybe sometime I will bet some for you. I don't really know. I will try to get some good pictures for you. It just depends on when we do something as a zone. One of my zone leaders doesn't really like doing activities so it's a little more difficult. But I will try.

Well I love you guys tons. I'm glad that you wrote me all who did. It is good hearing from you and getting to listen to what is going on at home. I hope all goes well this week and I'm excited to hear from you next week. I love you guys tons!! Have a fantastic week!!

Letter from Nov. 5, 2012

Hey how is everything going there up in the states? I am doing really well. It has been a good week. Lots of things to do. We are doing well here in Valdivia. It has been a crazy week. I am fine mom my toe doesn't hurt. I got it taken care of for free and we got a video of him taking it out and everything. We are going to take the other part out soon. I don't know when. He wants to staralize the supplys. But it's ok we are doing it soon enough. I am doing really well. Have had a little bit of allergys but other than that I are great. I have had a great week. This week is the last week of the cambios. And everybody tells me that Pres. Rappleye is going to be calling me on Saturday to tell me that i am going to be training this next cambio. So we will see what happens. As of right now we don't know anything so I am ok. I don't know how much I want to train hahaha. So much responasablity with DL and training a new missionary. But we will see what happens. I don't know. I'll do whatever I am asked to do. But yea we will see.
We don't really have any investigators who are really progressing to be baptized. We have a couple. There are 2 who know that this message and church are true but have to get divorced and married with their partner who they live with. So that is a little more difficult. And we are teaching a members daughter. The member was baptized like 6 months ago or so and his daughter is a Jehovas Witness. So we are teaching her and she is actually so so so so close to being baptized. She is a good girl and always comes to church and goes to seminary and everything. She is more of a mormon than a lot of other people that I have met on my mission. I don't get why she hasn't been baptized yet. She participates in everything!!! Seminary and everything. But she is close I can feel it. Her name is makarena.
Today we aren't doing anything really really really special. I think we are going to go bowling again and so that will be fun. I love bowling. It remindes me of 2 dollar Tuesday in Ben Lomand Lanes!! i love that night. But yea and after that I think we are going to go to the mall.I am trying to find a Chile soccer jersey. So we are going to go hang out there and i need to buy new pants. My work pants are horrible and have holes in them so I need to replace them. They are not good. I have to wear basketball shorts underneath them because they are so bad. But you know what happens when you are just working. So I will be finding some new pants soon. Don't worry about me. Other than that we might go to the River Calle-Calle to hang out on the dock and take some pictures. So we are excited for today. We don't have anything to do so we are just going to hang out a little bit.
Mom I am glad that you are just getting a bunch of upgrades now.. Haha cuz you didn't want to do it when I was home!! But what kind of smart phone do you have mom? I am so excited for Brady!! Send my love to him. Bolivia?! Well that kinda sucks haha no just kidding. That's awesome. What part is he going to? But tell the kid I love him to death! When does he leave?
I am doing really well and I am glad that you are all well and busy. I love hearing about your week and about your life and what is going on in your homes. Thank you so much for your support and love that you all have for me. I can feel it everyday and so much in your prayers and when you are thinking about me. I am so grateful to have friends and family like you on my side and in my favor to cheer me on. I can't wait to hear from you guys soon. I hope all goes well this week and that everything happens in your favor. I love you guys so much. I hope that you all know that. I am glad that every single one of you have influenced my life. Before my mission and during my mission and especially now with your support and love. Thank you so much. Have a great week!!!
