Dear family and friends,
I recieved a phone call on Saturday.. It was President Rappleye calling
me... With much sadness as I tell you this right now. After 1 cambio (6 weeks) I
am leaving Futrono. I am staying in the same zone of Calle-Calle. But I am going
to a zone that is called Martina de Rosas. I am going and becoming District
Leader. I am so nervous and I just don't want to let down anybody. President,
the missionaries and especially the Lord. But I am sad because I don't want to
leave Futrono. I love it here so much. I wanted to stay for more time. But I
must go and do as the Lord has commanded. In my district I am going to have my
sector, another sector and the Zone Leaders. (Talk about pressure) The good
thing is, the zone leaders are both from my group. So I know them. Or to say we
entered in the MTC and came to Chile together. So I don't think it is going to
be too bad but I'm scared. I know the Lord is going to help me and has called me
to do it, But still there is that little nagging feeling that is always there. I
just don't want to disapoint anybody. But I will go and do. That is pretty much
what has happened my last week. I have found that news out. But we have had a
good week. We had intercambios and my District Leader right now came out to
Futrono with me (probably because they thought that I was going to be staying
here and training or something.) So he came here and loved it. I also love it
here. I can't believe I was here for the least amount of time possible. But what
can you do right? But I am ok. These last two days are going to be awesome. I
will still see Elder Burgos every Tuesday in the District Meeting so that will
be good. But I don't want to leave the members or our investigators. We have
found so many good people. We found a family to teach!! And they are amazing
they love when we come by and everything and the kids love it too. So it is hard
to leave. We have a couple people who are starting to progress. But my time has
come to an end here. We have had a good week. One of our investigators knows
that the church was restored but is a little scared to take the initiative to
get baptized. We are helping her with that and also her daughter who is a
member.
We have had a good week other than those things. It has been a good last
week.. But you know I know there will be other blessings for me waiting in my
other sector. I heard lots of good things about my next sector and I also heard
that it's a training sector. So Elder Burgos told me I'm going to go for 1
cambio then I am going to be training also. So we will just see about that. He
said that I'm going to train a kid from Utah. We will just see about his
"Prophecy" as he calls it.. Haha he is a funny Elder. I was glad that I was with
a Chilean for their Independence Day that was fun. Even though we couldn't do
anything.... That was the only lame part. He told me that he doesn't want me to
leave. We thought we were going to be another cambio together but we will see
eachother still. So that is the good thing.
We were talking to a member this last week. And they were talking to an
Evangelist. They starting talking about the missionaries or us practically. And
you wanna know what they said?? They told our member that we worship the devil
and that we are anti-christs. Funny right? I can't believe that they would say
stuff like that. They claim to be these great Christians and yet they just talk
crap on the other people haha. But oh well they are only hurting themselves for
that. I heard a story. It was from an elder and it was a story of his teacher in
the MTC. His teacher was serving I don't remember where. And his companion was
from South Africa. They contacted a guy and he invited them to his church so
they were like "ok cool lets go." So they went. And in that time the Evangelists
starting talking in their "tongues." The missionary from South Africa all of a
sudden just got scared, went white and everything. He said to his companion, "
We need to go now.." and so his companion said "why? We are just watching it's
ok." So he said "No we need to go now.. I'll explain outside." So they went
outside and he told his companion, "Elder, when they started talking in tongues,
they were talking in my native language (South African) and they were worshiping
the devil."
Crazy the story right? Sorry I just had to tell it. But yea that really
happened. Really crazy..
Well anyway I love you guys tons!! I hope that your week goes well this
week and you all have a good week. I will be talking to you the next week in a
different sector. Say goodbye to Futrono.. Hopefully one day I can come back
here.. I love you guys tons. I know that I'm leaving but because the Lord needs
me somewhere else with a little more responsability. I love you so
much!!
Love,
Love,
un abrazo
Elder Tyler Jolley
